Psython - The Last Days of the Good Times 'Album Review'

Rifftastic has got their hands on 'Psython' classified as ("Reyt Metal / #reytmetal") NEW ALBUM! AND OH BOY IS THIS A RIDE!!! LETS JUMP IN FACE FIRST!!

.

The second track on the album sozzard is a incredle track and a great way to get the listener on board immediately with Solid riffs and great melodic sections transporting you into a warped heavy but colourful universe with your brutal metal riff face on.

Semantic Psychopath is old school thrashtastic living up to their peers in the big 4 and surpassing them in respects!

Following suit Inebriated sounds like municipal waste on crack and shot of petrol and matches on top! blisteringly mental!

When The Lights Go Out Sounds like their sing along "How long will you last when the lights go out when the lights go out!!" thanks... its in my head.

DIY is the weakest track on the album but even then its their own fault for doing so many fantastic songs already!

Thrice picks up the pace again with some great riffs and speed! that mid riff section though.

Phallus Of The Goddess and Throwaway again felt weak comparatively to other tracks and had less techy and intricate moments displayed in previous tracks.

This Town is a great track! short and sweet with great riffs and sections that pumped life into the flow!

The Last Days Of The Good Times is a fantastic way to end the album! sincere and deep and anthemic! Psython does iron maiden showing a great range and ability these lads and the vocalist has.

Overview: My face through the album is a mix of wonderment and the riff scrunch squint,

With mix of fantastic techy and thashy moments and anthemic and melodic sections that flow seamlessly into each other and the RIFFS that just take you into its mental whirlwind and spitting you out the other side completely buggered... SO its a Good album with some fantastic tracks! but i feel there was too many filler tracks that did not meet the standard they set in the first quarter of the album making it a unbalanced listen.

The last few tracks did bring it back with a epic ending making the listen worth it and truly felt like close to a album that felt climatic and took me by surprise.

7.5/10 RIFFS
