Dorylus - Without Sin 'Album Review'

Meet Dorylus a 4 piece metal band from Hertfordshire that have a licence to blow your head off and to chew bubblegum...and they are all out of gum.

The doors get abruptly blown open with booming bass stabs and shredding RIFFS, the groove is undeniable and the songs are banger after banger with a little break in between! The Randy Blythe influence is blatant vocally it's the best LOG album you haven't heard.... But fret not...ehe....ehem!

It has enough variety and its own signature styles to stand out on its own merits of originality and artistic vision not to mention the abundance of influences strewn through the album that they mold into their own brand and did i mention RIFFS yet?? no?...

The pace of the album doesn't let up and keeps the listener i.e me engaged while im headbanging along(

and forgetting to actually pay attention to do the review) but getting lost in the music is never a bad thing,

Dorylus deliver a savage mix of all blends of metal from death to thrash etc with the epic scaling solos and harmonies that rival most melodic bands and heavy ass brutal riffs that are on par with death metal greats! all thrown in with a ever present groove delivering a crushing sound that is infectious....Anyone else feeling itchy?

Theres is something to say about album length and how do you craft a engaging album from start to finish and they have managed to do it like a boss.

The uk currently is at its healthiest with underground bands and Dorylus are ones to watch out for! their potential to climb the ladder of success and forge a name for themselves is well within their grasp and this album is the catalyst,

Overview: Without sin is Groove laden death metal with epic melody and some familiar experimentation to tickle your nostalgic pickle, Dorylus bring the heavy but remain composed and deliberate in their craft, cannot wait to see them live.

8.5/10 RIFFS
